Here is an article about the fact that despite numerous complaints about the IPhone people don’t seem to be too upset at Apple about it. I think this describes a lot of Apple products. Because it is Apple people are willing to ignore some product faults. With the exception of Moble Me (which was just too bad to like) Apple fans are just willing to ignore the problems and still love the products anyway. Why don’t we complain about the problems so they get better and we can love the product even more. That being said, Apple products tend to be pretty nice.

Apple has filed a patent for what seems to be a touchscreen tablet! Now wouldn’t that be exciting? I know a few people who will be really excited about this. Ok, so I’m pretty excited about this. Stuff like this makes me wish I were in the market for a computer…and that I had money…but everything makes me wish that.

Comcast confirmed that it will soon begin capping residential users to 250GB of downloading per month. I don’t like the idea of bandwidth caps, but 250GB!?!? How do you use that much? Now that I say that, I wonder how much bandwidth I use each month…

A company in Switzerland will take the ashes of one of your loved ones and turn them into a diamond so you can have a permanent memento to remember by. Now let it sink in just how creepy that really is. I mean…imagine do you wear it as jewelry? I think an urn with ashes will do just as well thank you very much.

Somehow a computer virus made it on board the International Space Station. It is a virus designed to steal log in names and passwords for a handful of popular online games (very dangerous I know). I’m sure the big thing is just the fact that a virus made it onto the ISS. It’s easy to imagine how much damage a virus targeted at the ISS could cause if it got on board. It’s probably worth worrying about if you’re a NASA engineer, but it sounds like they keep things pretty well under control.

The Space Cube is one of the worlds smallest computers. It is cube with sides only 2 inches long. It contains a 300Mhz processor as well as usb ports, card readers, input and outputs, basically all the stuff you need. It runs a Red Hat Linux and is overall pretty cool. But mostly it’s small. I’d like to get a tone of them and build a tower….I guess that’s the little kid in me coming out.

With rumors abounding over the new Mouse talk coming from Microsoft (and the fact that they scheduled their announcement for the same day as Apple’s next announcement) maybe this can shed some lite on the subject. The Blue Track mouse. It’s supposed to work on any surface. Hmm…that would be nice. I guess I’ll put off buying a new mouse as well.

In his keynote yesterday, the Intel CTO talked about some research going on at Intel into human-machine interfaces, and said that promising changes could come much sooner than previously expected.  While I find this to be great, there was one thing that made me a little worried, and that was his comment about how “machines could even overtake humans in their ability to reason, in the not so distant future.”  having a robot to talk to could be pretty awesome, but we don’t want them to take over…

Other than that I find the wireless power idea to be awesome.  I would love to not have to search for a power outlet when I need to charge my laptop, or other devices like my iPod.  

The article also talks about programable matter that would change it’s shape based on what you needed. The example they used was a Mobile computer that would fit in your pocket, but would change into an earpiece for your phone, or a screen and keyboard for watching movies, or browsing the internet.  This seems a bit far-fetched but awesome anyways.
